Smithers-Oasis has recently introduced a new, highly innovative floral design product – OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media. This compostable brick is a stable base for designing with fresh flowers, which offers excellent water absorption and flower life.
Made with renewable, natural coir (coconut husk fibre) and a compostable binder, OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media has been certified OK compost HOME and OK compost INDUSTRIAL. That means recycling the product in your own garden’s compost heap is possible!
“Smithers-Oasis is extremely excited about this product. Our Research team has been working on its development for years, and we believe OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media is the most impactful invention in the floral design space since the creation of OASIS® Floral Foam in 1954.”Robin Kilbride, President and CEO of Smithers-Oasis.
Years of Research & Development
“We started this project with a long list of performance targets,” Kilbride continues. “OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media checks all of the boxes.” In addition to being certified OK compost HOME and OK compost INDUSTRIAL, the product offers a sturdy foundation in which to create floral designs, allowing design from all sides. The product can be cut to fit any container, or used on a plate to be seen and incorporated into the design.
“We’ve done extensive product testing in several of our Research laboratories. This product offers excellent flower life and meets the other rigorous testing standards established for our products. Of course, our testing extended beyond our laboratories, to floral designers around the world. That expert feedback was key to achieving our goals.”
OASIS® TerraBrick™ Floral Media is initially launching in the United States, Canada and Europe. Launches in other markets are currently ongoing!
