Aleia Roses awarded the MPS-SQ certificate, highlighting the Spanish grower’s exceptional working conditions

On January 22, Aleia Roses received the MPS-SQ (Socially Qualified) certificate from sustainability certification agency MPS. Mr Gerrit Jan Vreugdenhil, Commercial Director of MPS, handed the award to María del Mar Parra, Agricultural Engineer at Aleia Roses. This celebratory event took place at the stand of Aleia Roses as they participated in the International Pflanzen Messe (IPM) 2019 in Essen, Germany.

The MPS-SQ certificate highlights the social involvement of companies. Good working conditions are an increasingly important concern for many traders and consumers. The importance of good cultivation methods, as well as information about the origin of products, is thereby increased.

On top of that, the social aspects of a producer are increasingly relevant as well. MPS-SQ satisfies this demand by indicating that a company meets the current requirements, such as in the field of health and safety. The MPS-SQ certificate is based on universal human rights and the codes of conduct of representative local organisations. The requirements of the ILO (International Labor Organization) are also included.

Aleia Roses

The Spanish grower of Red Naomi! ® strives to produce organically, factors in the local environment and is deeply socially involved. Aleia Roses works together with ILUNION, for example, a Spanish organization that helps people who suffer from eye disease. Furthermore, the company provides jobs that help to reduce the depopulation of the province of Soria – the region of Spain that suffers from this problem the most.

Aleia Roses is thrilled to add this MPS-SQ certificate to the range of credentials it already has been awarded; MPS-ECAS, MPS-GAP and MPS-A.
