Czech Republic Florists Championship 2010 won by Jaromir Kokes
This year's Florists Championship of the Czech Republic ("Decinska Kotva 2010") took place recently in the city of Decin, drawing around 9500 visitors. It was won by Mr. Jaromir Kokes from Studio Ammi in Brno, who will have the pleasure to represent the Czech Republic at the EUROPA CUP 2011, taking place in Havirov from August 31st to September 5th of next year.
29 florists, 18 junior students from local horticultural high schools and 11 professionals, competed in the competition this year. The evaluation was done according to the Florint 100-points scale system, as has become customary in these tournaments.
The professionals competed in four disciplines: making a bouquet for Mexico's Day of Independence, creating flower decorations for the interior of the Czech pavilion on EXPO 2010 (Shanghai), designing flower jewelry applicable to formal dress, and, lastly, a surprise element revolving around pot plant decorating.
The competition could be realized primarily thanks to financial support from the host city of Decin, the project Elbe-Labe, as well as a number of other smaller sponsors.
