Apart from having a good judging system, it was considered to be
of great importance that attention was also given to the quality level of the judges. It is important that they are not only experienced florists, but preferably have experience in competitions too, at the least speak the English language and know how to properly use the judging system. It was thought to be a good thing if FLORINT would develop a certification system and courses to educate judges on the European / international level.
At the moment a special taskforce is developing a new “international certification system for judges” based upon a competence profile for a professional international judge, to be established by FLORINT. This certification system is expected to be launched sometime in 2010.
Courses on various levels.
On the basis of this competence profile various courses will be developed to educate judges in the numerous aspects of judging. So far a basic course has been given several times, educating judges to use Florint's 100-points judging system properly. These judges are subsequently qualified to be a judge at (inter-)national competitions, where the 100-points system is applied.
A list of the qualified judges is available on request.
